"How much does a digital marketing agency cost?" is the question every business owner asks first and every agency website avoids answering. This guide gives you real ranges in dirhams, explains how the pricing models work, and shows you how to build a budget that fits a small or medium business in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi or anywhere in the UAE.
Two notes before the numbers. First, these are typical market ranges for SMEs based on what we see in proposals and what clients tell us they were quoted; they are not quotes, and agencies at the top and bottom of every range exist. Second, prices in the UAE vary far more with scope than with location, so always compare what is included before you compare the number.
The four ways agencies charge
| Model | Used for | Typical structure | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly retainer | Social media management, SEO, ongoing content | Fixed fee for a fixed scope, renewed monthly or quarterly | Scope creep in both directions: check the deliverable counts |
| Project fee | Websites, branding, one-off campaigns, video | Fixed price with milestones and revision rounds | Unlimited revisions do not exist; count them |
| Percentage of ad spend | Meta, Google, TikTok, Snapchat campaign management | 10-20% of media spend, often with a minimum fee | Incentive to push spend up; ask how they decide budgets |
| Day or hourly rate | Photography, videography, consulting, training | Half-day or full-day rates plus editing | Editing and usage rights are sometimes separate |
Most UAE agencies combine models: a retainer for content plus a percentage or flat fee for ads, with shoots either included or charged by the session.
Social media management prices in the UAE
This is the most common service SMEs buy and the widest price range.
| Tier | Typical monthly fee (AED) | What you usually get |
|---|---|---|
| Entry / freelancer-level | 1,500 - 3,000 | Templates, 8-12 posts, basic captions, little or no shooting |
| SME standard | 3,000 - 8,000 | Content plan, 4-6 reels, 8-12 posts, 20+ stories, copy in two languages, monthly report, sometimes a monthly shoot |
| SME premium | 8,000 - 15,000 | More reels, monthly or fortnightly shoots, community management, creative direction, campaign concepts |
| Corporate / multi-brand | 15,000 - 40,000+ | Dedicated team, multiple accounts or markets, strategy and paid media integrated |
To give a concrete published example rather than a hidden quote: Silk Road's social media packages start at AED 5,500 per month (AED 15,675 per quarter, which works out at AED 5,225 per month) for 4 reels, 8 posts and 20 stories with a content plan and monthly report, and go up to AED 9,000 per month with creative direction and priority production. Use those as a reference point for what a Sharjah-licensed agency with its own production team charges.
What moves the price inside a tier:
- Reels. Short video is the most expensive deliverable because it needs shooting, editing and often a presenter or creator.
- Shoots. A monthly on-location shoot can be a third of the package cost. Packages without shoots rely on your own photos or stock, which shows.
- Languages. Native Arabic and English copy costs more than one language with translation.
- Community management. Replying to comments and DMs during business hours is a person's time, and it is often the difference between a follower and a customer.
Ads management prices (Meta, Google, TikTok, Snapchat)
Agencies charge for managing campaigns separately from the media budget you pay the platforms.
| Structure | Typical range | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Flat monthly fee | AED 900 - 5,000 | Small budgets where a percentage would be too little to cover the work |
| Percentage of spend | 10-20% of media | Budgets above roughly AED 10,000 per month |
| Hybrid | Flat fee up to a threshold, percentage above | Growing budgets |
As a published example, Silk Road charges AED 900 per month for budgets up to AED 3,000 and 30% of the budget above that, with media paid by the client directly to the platform (see Meta ads and Google Ads for what management covers). Whatever model you are offered, three things should be in writing: who pays the platform, who owns the ad account, and what the reporting shows (cost per lead or purchase, not just clicks).
Media budget itself. For a local service business in the UAE, meaningful campaigns on Meta typically start around AED 2,000 to AED 5,000 per month; Google Search for high-intent services (clinics, repairs, legal, real estate) often needs more because cost per click in the UAE is relatively high in competitive categories. The right number depends on your margin and how many enquiries your team can actually handle. SEO prices in the UAE
| Scope | Typical monthly fee (AED) |
|---|---|
| Local SEO for one location (Google Business Profile, citations, reviews, on-page basics) | 1,500 - 4,000 |
| SME SEO retainer (technical fixes, content, links, Arabic and English) | 3,000 - 10,000 |
| Competitive niches or e-commerce | 10,000 - 25,000+ |
| One-off audit | 2,000 - 8,000 |
SEO is slow by nature; budget for at least six months. Be suspicious of anyone quoting AED 500 a month for "first page guaranteed": it is usually automated link spam that gets you nowhere or gets you penalised.
Photography and video prices
| Service | Typical range (AED) |
|---|---|
| Half-day product or food shoot with editing | 1,500 - 3,500 |
| Full-day shoot with videography | 3,000 - 8,000 |
| Per-reel production (scripted, shot, edited) | 500 - 2,000 |
| UGC-style video from a creator | 400 - 1,500 per video, more for named influencers |
| Corporate video or brand film | 8,000 - 40,000+ |
Ask about usage rights (our photography page lists what a session includes). Some studios charge more for paid-ads usage or for unlimited-time rights; Silk Road's terms, for example, transfer ownership of delivered content to the client on full payment, with raw files staying with the studio. Read the fine print of whoever you choose.
Website and branding prices
| Deliverable | Typical range (AED) |
|---|---|
| Landing page for campaigns | 2,000 - 6,000 |
| Bilingual business website (5-10 pages) | 6,000 - 25,000 |
| E-commerce store | 15,000 - 60,000+ |
| Logo and brand identity | 2,500 - 15,000 |
| Hosting, domain and maintenance | 500 - 3,000 per year |
Arabic support is the detail that separates a cheap site from a useful one in the UAE: right-to-left layout, Arabic typography and a URL structure that lets both languages rank. Ask to see a bilingual site the agency built before you sign. Our web design service page shows what a bilingual build includes.

- Light social presence: AED 1,500 - 3,000 per month

If your budget is well below these, do not spread it thin. Pick the one channel closest to how your customers already find you and do that properly. Our guide for small businesses in Sharjah and the Northern Emirates shows how to start small.
Hidden costs to ask about
- VAT. 5% on services from VAT-registered suppliers. Check whether quotes are inclusive.
- Tools. Scheduling, reporting and CRM subscriptions are sometimes billed on top.
- Paid usage of content. Some studios price organic-only usage and charge extra to run the same content as ads.
- Influencer fees and permits. Creator collaborations are separate from the agency fee. Note that the UAE regulates paid influencer advertising; check the current licensing rule with the relevant authority before you run a campaign.
- Travel. Shoots outside the agency's emirate can carry a travel charge.
- Revisions beyond the included rounds. Two rounds is common; more is billable.
- Exit terms. Notice periods and non-refundable production fees once work has started.
Agency, freelancer or in-house: the cost comparison
| Option | Typical monthly cost | Pros | Cons |
|---|---|---|---|
| Freelancer | AED 2,000 - 8,000 | Cheap, direct, flexible | One skill set, no cover for leave, limited production |
| Agency | AED 5,000 - 20,000 | Team of specialists, shoots, continuity, accountability | Higher fee, less flexibility on tiny scopes |
| In-house hire | AED 8,000 - 20,000 salary plus visa, benefits, tools and equipment | Full-time attention, brand knowledge | One person cannot shoot, edit, design, write and run ads well; recruitment risk |
The freelancer-versus-agency question deserves its own discussion, which we cover in agency vs freelancer in Dubai. For a single-person marketing department, an agency retainer is often cheaper than a hire once you add visa, insurance, equipment and software.
How to keep the cost under control
- Write your scope before asking for quotes. Agencies price the uncertainty you leave them.
- Start with a quarter, not a year. A three-month plan with a review is enough to judge fit; quarterly plans are often discounted anyway.
- Separate fees from media in every document. It stops confusion and lets you scale one without the other.
- Own your accounts. Switching agencies costs nothing if the Business Manager, ad accounts and profiles are yours.
- Ask for cost per result in every report. If you know your cost per WhatsApp lead, you can decide rationally whether to spend more or less.
- Plan for seasons. Ramadan and the Q4 run of National Day, shopping festivals and year-end often justify higher spend; the summer lull often justifies less.
Bottom line
For most SMEs in the UAE, a serious start is roughly AED 5,000 to AED 8,000 per month in agency fees plus AED 2,000 to AED 5,000 in media, and a strong programme with production and paid media runs AED 10,000 to AED 20,000 per month. Anything cheaper is usually missing shoots, strategy or a real person's time, and anything more expensive should come with a clear reason.
If you want a quote against a written scope, with fees and media separated and no lock-in beyond a quarter, see our packages or message the team.
