Choosing a social media management agency Dubai businesses can rely on comes down to three checks: what the agency actually produces each month (reels, posts, stories and a shoot, or templates only), whether its fee and your ad budget are shown as two separate amounts, and whether it publishes a rate card you can compare line by line. Everything else, the follower promises and the award logos, is noise.

- A full month of management in Dubai typically runs AED 3,000 to AED 15,000 for a small business; a package with a monthly shoot usually starts above AED 6,000.
- The agency plans, writes, designs, shoots, schedules and reports. It does not reply to your customers: your team answers the DMs and the WhatsApp.
- Ask for the trade licence, the name of the person who shoots, the contract length and a fee that excludes ad spend.
- Walk away from follower guarantees, a scope with no shoot, or an ad budget hidden inside the fee.
- December content for National Day and Dubai Shopping Festival needs a brief by mid-November.
This guide is for an owner or marketing lead comparing two or three quotes for a Dubai account. I run production at Silk Road, so I see what a month of management looks like from the inside: the shoot days, the Arabic and English drafts, the revision rounds and the report at the end. The checklist below is what I would use if I were buying rather than selling.
What does a social media management agency do each month?
A managed account is a monthly production cycle. The names differ from agency to agency, but the work breaks into six steps.
The six steps of a managed month
- Content plan. A calendar of what will be published on which day, tied to your offers, your season and your platform mix. You approve it before anything is produced.
- Copywriting. Captions, hooks, hashtags and calls to action, in Arabic and in English where you need both.
- Design. Post templates, carousels, story frames and covers in your brand colours and typography.
- Production. Reels and photographs shot at your location or in a studio. This is the step that separates a real agency from a template shop.
- Scheduling and publishing. Posting at the right times, tagging, locations and pinned content.
- Reporting. A monthly summary of reach, saves, profile visits, link taps and, most important, enquiries.
What a management agency does not do
The agency is not your front desk. It does not reply to your customers. Direct messages, comments asking for prices and WhatsApp enquiries are answered by your own team, because they involve availability, bookings and promises only you can make. Some agencies offer a moderation add-on for comments, but treat it as a separate line, not something to expect inside a content package.
It also does not run your ads unless ad management is in the scope. Content and media buying are two different jobs with two different fees, and the ad budget itself is always paid by you to the platform.
Agency, freelancer or in-house?
Three models, three trade-offs. We compared the first two in detail in agency vs freelancer in Dubai; here is the short version with the in-house option added.
| Model | Typical monthly cost in Dubai | Strength | Weakness |
|---|---|---|---|
| Freelancer | AED 1,500 to AED 5,000, usually without shoots | Direct contact, low cost, flexible | One calendar, limited production, no cover |
| Agency | AED 3,000 to AED 15,000 for an SME scope | Planning, bilingual copy, shoots and reporting as one system | Higher cost, less flexible on tiny scopes |
| In-house coordinator | AED 6,000 to AED 12,000 salary plus visa and equipment | Always available, knows the business | One person cannot shoot, edit, write and report well |
The market ranges above are typical quotes we hear from clients, not a price list. A single-branch cafe or clinic usually lands on an agency package because two freelancers (a photographer and a manager) cost about the same once coordination time is counted. A business with a strong in-house coordinator often keeps that person and buys production and ads from an agency.
Social media management agency Dubai rates: what a month should contain
The fastest way to judge a quote is to put it next to a published rate card and compare counts. Silk Road publishes its three social media packages with the exact counts, so any quote can be read against them line by line.
| Package | Reels | Posts | Stories | Also included | Monthly fee |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Presence | 4 | 8 | 20 | Content plan, copywriting and hashtags, monthly report | AED 5,500 |
| Growth | 6 | 12 | 25 | Everything in Presence plus a monthly shoot session | AED 6,900 |
| Impact | 10 | 8 | 30 | Everything in Growth plus creative direction, campaign concepts and priority production | AED 9,000 |
These fees have no VAT added because the company is not VAT-registered, quarterly plans are 5% less, and content is submitted for review within 48 hours of plan approval with two revision rounds included. The ad budget is paid separately by the client to the platform.
When you read a competing quote, ask the same questions of it: how many reels, how many of them are shot rather than assembled from stock, how many stories, is there a shoot, and how many revision rounds. A quote that says "social media management" with a single number and no counts is not a quote yet. Our guide to what a social media management package actually includes goes deeper on each line.
Arabic and English: who writes each and why translation is not enough
Dubai audiences are split by language in a way that most outside agencies underestimate. A perfume brand in Deira sells to Emirati and Gulf customers who read Arabic first, to South Asian and Western residents who read English, and to tourists who read neither language in the way a native writer would.
Translation produces captions that are correct and flat. A hook that works in English ("Three reasons your skin hates Dubai summers") becomes a sentence in Arabic that no one would say. Good practice is two writers, or one bilingual writer who drafts each language separately from the same brief. Ask the agency:
- Who writes the Arabic, and is that person a native speaker?
- Is the Arabic Modern Standard for authority, or a light Gulf tone for reels and stories, and who decides?
- Will Arabic posts be designed right to left with Arabic typography, not an English template with Arabic text pasted in?
If the answer to the first question is "we use a translation tool and the designer checks it", the Arabic side of your account will underperform, however good the English is.
Ten questions to ask a social media management agency before signing
Take this list to the meeting. The agency's reaction to the questions tells you as much as the answers.
- Can I see your trade licence? A licensed UAE company can issue a proper invoice and is accountable. The UAE government business portal explains what a licence covers.
- Who shoots, and where? Ask for the photographer's name, whether shoots happen at your location, and how many hours a shoot session includes.
- How many reels are shot rather than assembled from stock or my phone footage?
- What is the contract length and the notice period? Monthly with a quarter minimum is common; twelve months with no exit is a warning.
- Is the ad budget separate from the fee? The answer must be yes, with the ad account under your company.
- Who owns the content? Ownership of delivered content should transfer to you on full payment. Ask what happens to raw files.
- How many revision rounds are included, and how fast is the first draft?
- Who will I talk to each week? The account manager, or the person doing the work?
- What does the monthly report contain? Ask for a sample. Reach and likes alone are not a report.
- Can you show three accounts in my sector? Look at the last 30 days of each, not the highlight reel. A portfolio should show steady work, not one campaign.
We keep the long version of this list in 25 questions to ask before signing with a marketing agency.
Red flags that should end the meeting
- Follower guarantees. No one controls the algorithm, and purchased followers suppress your reach. An agency promising "10,000 followers in 90 days" is selling you a number, not customers.
- No shoot in the scope. Templates and stock photography cannot carry a Dubai consumer brand for more than a few weeks. If a shoot is not in the package, ask what the reels will be made from.
- Ad spend hidden inside the fee. One bundled number means you cannot see how much reaches Meta or TikTok. Insist on two lines and on an ad account created under your business through Meta Business Manager.
- Accounts created in the agency's name. Your Instagram, TikTok and Snapchat profiles and your ad accounts must be yours, with the agency as a partner.
- No Arabic writer on the team. See above.
- A "best agency" badge from a list you have never heard of. Ask who publishes the list and whether placements are paid.
Booking December content before National Day and Dubai Shopping Festival
December is the busiest production month of the year in Dubai. UAE National Day falls on 2 December, with the public holiday usually on 2 and 3 December, and Dubai Shopping Festival usually runs from early December to mid January (confirm the dates with Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment). Both need content that is shot, approved and scheduled before the first week of December.
Work backwards from that. A shoot needs a brief, a location, products and people; the edit needs a week; your approval and two revision rounds need another week. In practice, a December brief has to be agreed by mid-November for any agency with more than a handful of clients. If you are choosing an agency now, make the National Day and DSF calendar part of the first month's scope rather than an afterthought, and ask the agency to show you last year's December work for a comparable brand.
The same logic applies to Ramadan, expected to begin around 17 or 18 February 2027 subject to the moon sighting: the shoot should happen in January.
The one step to take this week
Do not sign on the strength of a presentation. Ask each agency you are considering for its rate card with counts, a sample monthly report and three live accounts in your sector, then put the three quotes in one table using the columns above. The right digital marketing partner will be the one whose numbers survive that comparison, and whose answers about Arabic copy, shoots and ad budgets were specific. If you want a Silk Road quote in the same format so you have a baseline, send us your brief and we will reply with counts and prices, not adjectives.
